Al-Karim Educational and Welfare Trust was established in 1991 by Late. Mohd. Haji Karim and remained under his guidance throughout his life. This trust carries major objectives in efforts which are to promote modern education at higher level, by establishing primary, secondary , Senior secondary school & colleges,  To provide free academic aid to the poor children.To work in the field of health to preserve the health and hygiene of people residing in the society.

Thus this trust began stepping ahead to achieve this higher objectives and Katahari Public School came into existence in 1991as a result. The members of this trust selected Mr. Noor Alam the youngest and the most deserving son of late Mohd. Haji Karim as the chairman of this school.

The session of the School began by the blessings and best wishes of late. Maulana AbdurRahman, the fifth Ameere-shariyat (Head of Islamic Parish) Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand (peace be upon him) and the senior trustee late. Maulana Sajjad Hussain Qasmi (Principal Madrasa Reyazululoom) in their presence.

Since then the people having thirst of knowledge began to move towards and the consequence became a centre and origin place for the followers of the modern education.

The first annual day was held on 28 th  Dec. 1993 and was officially inaugurated by the then Governor of Bihar Dr.A.R. Kidwai appeared as chief guest. He was impressed with the colorful programme of the children having angelic virtues. He was very glad with the grandeur academic works and managing ability of Mr. Noor Alam. He conveyed all his wishes to the School to go ahead in the field of education and over all excellence. The Annual day was presided by Dr.Sadre Alam, the elder son of Haji. Mohd. Karim who is a renowned surgeon in Germany for a span of more than 35 years and the School still owes its guidance to him.

In fact the institution has done progress by leaps and bounds in the chairmanship of Mr. Noor Alam a profound lover of education and its all round development is the main goal of his life. His creative and sacrificing attitude alone has led the school to the summit of success and now it need not any further introduction. Consequently the products of this school are learning in the best and reputed colleges and universities of the country. Some of them are well posted too, while some of them are rendering their services in abroad.

On the whole, the associates of Al-Karim educational and welfare trust are in constant efforts to achieve the other objectives. At present a higher secondary section has been built. Further , we intend to generalize it for the welfare of the society.
